Design Process
Research
User Experience should always begin and end with the user. I always begin by understanding the users needs, and working with the team to understand the business and technical requirements that we need to work with. Research informs the design and tells us if what we are building is needed.
Design
After understanding the requirements we can start to design, starting simple at first working with key features in low fidelity, then gradually moving through mid fidelity to high fidelity prototypes. By designing in stages, development teams can start working earlier with validated designs.
Validate
To ensure that the design works well, I develop thorough test plans for the prototypes. By ensuring that we test the correct features, we can make continuous improvements towards releasing the product. Through Rapid Prototype Testing we can Fail Fast and Fail Cheap.
Iterate
Even after the product is shipped, products often need to be continually developed. Through continuous iteration and improvement, the product can continue to grow. Even when user needs change, the product can adapt to meet the ever changing users.
